Shall we try this again?

Now, I've linked my blog to my Facebook page in the hope that I will remember to post to it. We'll see.
Current status: five cats, 1 dog, and a whole pile of books to read.
I'll start with "Why Buffy matters: the art of Buffy the vampire slayer" by Rhonda Wilcox. I'm finding it fascinating reading. Who knew that so many people were finding so much symbolism in a wwekly hour of high-school angst and vampires? OK, so that was perhaps slightly sarcastic...The author's examination of the different motifs in the series has me going back to rewatch a number of episodes, as well as formulating responses to some of the ideas that I have a different viewpoint on. I may expound on that once I've finished the book.
I'm also trying to catch up on my volumes of Persuasions, the annual publication of JASNA. I'm down to 6 issues. My goal is to catch up before I go to the Annual General Meeting in Philadelphia this year. I had sent a proposal for a presentation, but unfortunately was not accepted. There's always next time!
